Help picking ram

I have three candidates and I wanted to know:

which of these three would be a better candidate? The price is ascending, and the last one at £120 is pretty much my budget - is it justifiable to spend that much? Which one clocks best? Personal experience?

i would save myself a fortune and get some of this.. either 4 gigs of it or put the money towards something more usful like a better grafix card..

If you plan to OC, which it looks as if you do. Altho you may want to opt for the DDR2 800MHz and just clock the snot out of it. From reviews here and what Ive read elsewhere the PC6400 versions will clock to 1100MHz anyways , which is 550 1:1 with the bus.

Cheers Trog, though I've lost all my comparison data, so I now can't compare without trawling through twoish hours of history data..funfun...
are there any quick comparisons to hand, preferrably against the Crucial in either 800mhz or 1066mhz flavours..

Oh, and also; bear in mind this would be for the new XFX or EVGA 780i boards..so make what you will of that...I mentioned it in another thread and it slipped my mind when posting this one..

memory is all about buying the cheapest that will do the job u intend it to....

course if that job is to acquire bragging rights in your system specs or imagination it comes very expensive indeed..:cool:

I just love the fact that DDR2 Ram prices have dropped so much, i remember buying 1g for like >100$ not too long ago.

I say get the Crucial. My PC-6400 kit on 2.4V does 1200MHz 5-5-5-15, or it can do 1070Hz 4-4-4-12. On 2.3 it does 1150 5-5-5-15 or 1020 4-4-4-12.

The PC8500 Ballistix supposedly scale even better.

It's not much more expensive over here, so if you have the money, it's justifiable. Depends on the price difference over there.

I say go for these, at £30 they're a steal, plus they'll overclock to pc2-8500 speeds

Well there's about £20-£25 in it..Well if you have it, I say it can't hurt. But the PC6400 will do just fine.
