Thought I might share a few examples to show the differences between stock HSF temperatures and water cooling temps. 2 X BFG 8800GT OC cards used in SLI setup, no overclocking. Two tests were logged at idle varying the speed of the cards fans in 5 minute intervals and two tests logged while playing Crysis level 32_ASSAULT_14M_54S default settings. Koolance 8800GT water blocks used also.

I'd have to say the stock cooler temps are abysmal, and the w/c temps are nothing to write home about either. It's amazing how hot the g92 core gets.

Even at 65 nm is still gets that hot...think about if it were 90 lol

Thing is, I can pust my g80 core to it's voltage limits and I get temps as good as his w/c setup with a stock cooler. I think the g92 is an awsome and extremely powerful chip, I just think it was rushed to market a little early. Imagine if the g92 ran cooler?!

Unfortunately I do live in Australia where the temps in summer get pretty warm so water will only be as good as the ambient. The fact is but, the cards don't see a great rise in temperatures even at full load and hot air is not being dumped in my case by those shitty stock HSF's.

Lol, and here I am in a fridgid snowy hell! Heck, I take it back, those temps are pretty good for a hot Australian summer! I'm not knocking on your setup or anything, I'm just a little dissapointed in how much heat these things make for such small chips!

Wasn't offended at all, the temps are much the same as when I was running 8800GTS SLI
320MB (G80). These new G92 cores are bloody hot but.

I also live in Brisbane and the ambient temp in my room is about 28c - 30c ( No Air Cond :( )during the day and those temps are very similar to my 8800GTX temps using the zalman full coverage waterblock. So for an SLI setup those temps are quiet good.

BTW Where in Aus do you buy your watercooling gear?...PC Case Gear is the only one that seems to have anything....Cheers

I buy overseas mainly Performance PC's, although I have bought a fair bit from Koolance themselves, never had a problem with both suppliers. Australia is pretty dismal for water cooling products, but I do buy alot from PC Case Gear, good shop.
