View Full Version : Insufficient cooling. Need help!!!!

I have 17 fans in my computer total. I have overkill cooling. But hey when fans are 1.29 a piece I cant help myself. Here is where all my fans are 4 front 4 side 2 back 1 top 1 bottom 2 psu 1 cpu 1 nb 1 gpu. All but one are bigger then 80mms. I have 11 red led fans and no cathodes.
The internals:
Amd xp 2000+ @ 2.02ghz(135x15)
Gigabyte GA-7VT600 1394
512 of Cursial ddr333 1024 of CORSAIR ValueSelect ddr400
Geforce 4 Ti4200 128mb 8x
Wd 40gig( need more space have had that thing forever)
Enermax 350w psu

What do you have it on...? well some form of mirror but where?

It is on a mirror in wtf8269's basement. It has a white sheet hanging behind it. There was a frame around the mirror that I photoshoped out. This is before photoshoping.

Ohh, ok I can see it now with your second photo. Thats a neat idea, I want to get a mirror and put it in th e bottem of my case. :D

17 fans.. how's the noise level on that thing? How many fans blowing in, how many blowing out?

I have 9 intake 32cfm fans. 2 75cfm 2 32cfm exhaust. 4 of those intakes are behind my front panel so those are restricked. I have a cpu fan, gpu fan, bottom psu fan, and a nb fan. It evens out pretty good.

Jason and I are best friends and I can tell you my system is louder. All the red LED fans aren't loud at all, it's just the two rear exhaust and the CPU fan that's loud. The rest of the fans aren't annoying at all.

Hey Aaron, I might be able to give you a run for your money in loudness, When I turn all my fans up full, you can here its 2 levels down in our house. :)

Hmm I'm not sure. I can hear mine on the first floor clear on the other side of the house. My room is in the basement. I think I might have you beat if the ceiling in my room wasn't somewhat soundproof. Each of my smart fans are rated 48db of which I have five, and the Tornado is 56db. Either way both of our PCs piss off our parents. :p

Lmao, ya the tornado would be hard to beat. But as you said, it has the same effect on our parents lol.

I used to have a smart fan in the side that had bad bearings and it would sound like a chainsaw at full rpm. That was annoying.

I've got pretty close, 3 side, 2 top, 2 rear, 2 front, 1 cpu, 1 gpu, 1 gpu slot fan, 1 exhaust slot fan, 1 psu fan. That's 14, okay, only 2/3 of you but still. All are 80's or smaller except the cpu fan and PSU fan, the cpu is a 92mm Tornado and the psu is a 120mm.

I love my SilenX fans they push plenty of air and the only thing I hear outta my case is when my Zalman kicks up to 100%(now my wifes PC on the other hand is loud and annoying and I CERTAINLY cant hear mine over hers)
