Hey everyone, me again, i finally have a picture to show everyone what type of problem i am having when i overclock too high (supposedly). Firstly i'll explain the situation, i have my Point of View 8800GTX currently running at 585(which is actually 594, says riva tuner)/1510/1010(2020), i'm pretty happy with this, but i see a lot of GTX owners getting up to 650+ core, which i continually try with mine. This is where the problems set in, if i try anything higher than 585 core (even when i put the other things back to default, 1350 shaders and 900 memory) i get these black lines in games like Oblivion, and i think Crysis, but it's much harder to notice let alone capture in that game (so much motion compared to oblivion). Here is the picture

Now i'll chuck down all the info i can (hope it helps)
I run oblvion with max settings, 16x anisotropic and 4x antialiasing, i'm running windows xp, if you need to see my specs just check my profile. Any help is much appreciated, i really cannot understand this problem, it only happens if i try push my core past 585mhz, this just seems pathetic compared to some numbers most people are getting. A thread i made awhile back which got about... 1 reply seemed to hint towards me needing a better PSU, i do plan on getting a new/better one, it'll be a corsair hx-620

Lastly, if my card is just a bad make and you think it's not up to overclocking, tell me straight, i can take it.

Thanks in advance everyone, hope you all have a great christmas :)

only problem i can think of is heat, even though you have a hr-03 like me.. or like you say it may just be a bad OCer ..... if so its no big loss ... i have never realy found a need to OC my gtx with any game ive ever played

EDIT --- i just thought could it be a AA issue ???? im prity sure ive had issues like that with AA in the past .... (can some one else confirm this for me??)

Damn, just like my other threads, 1 reply before they die... guess this is either a really rare problem or people have had enough of listening to people and their 8800GTX problems :ohwell:

problem was the image shearing that sometimes occurs when the game code is not in agreement with the gfx card... It is not a GTX problem, It is a code problem :shadedshu... I had the same in far cry, don't worry about it, just create a profile with no overclocking for the gfx when playing those games, as you don't really need it...:toast:
