I had been using this service for awhile and currently have a $2500 credit limit with NE, they advertise to me no payment for 6 months, which is nice...but I just read this about a QX9650 review...
Cons: Price is still way to high, but HEY!!! with my Newegg Preferred Account I don't have to pay until Jan/09.
Is this guy just wrong or does the preferred account have some kind of service to delay payment a year? If it can be delayed a year then I have this strong urge to make use of my credit.

Ah I answered my own question, seems to be some promotional thing ending 2/29. Thats too bad, my credit is actually used and due in April lol, I had planned on finishing payments in March so I don't think I'll be able to make use of this.

yea, looks like a promotion. on a side note, i see a lot of people buying things with credit cards. while you are free to spend your money as you wish, just remember it is not a good habit to get into. the freedom a credit card brings can be very addicting and lead to severe debt. obviously look for the deals where the credit card companies offer 0 interest for a period of time, but that means you should be paying it off in that time period. i personally rarely use a credit card. in fact, the only time i use it is when i know i can pay for something with a check card but want to keep up my great credit score.

I agree 100% with that. It's dangerous to mess with a credit card like that, I ALWAYS pay with cash. If I can't pay with cash, then I don't need it.

yea, that is the smart thing to do. i didnt mean to preach but credit card debt is a serious issue with "our" generation. we dont want the future leaders of the world to be slaves to banks now do we?

I've spent, and always paid back before the 6 months, about 7 grand worth of things using the preferred account. Using credit when you know yourself well enough to always pay back in time is a great way to boost your credit score. Also NewEgg charges no interest if you pay back on time. But I'd say a majority of people get carried away and eventually into debt, so your words of warning are still good to mention.
