Good to Defragment and does it effect Upgrading?

I just Defragmented my HDD and am wondering if it effect anything like upgrading? If you defragment your HDD you can still upgrade your video card and CPU right? I just don't want any problems.

All defragmenting does is move files so that data in them isn't scatterred accross the hard disk. It doesn't affect upgradability at all.
