My uncle has a dell dont know the model yet but he needs a new hd and i was wondering if he were to get a new one like from newegg if he could use the one from newegg? his hd is a 17.9GB and he wants to get a 250GB.

Yes but you need the model of the computer first.

o he doesn't know too much about computers but he told me it was xps. I am going to check tomorrow and see what model it is.

Try to get a model number as some older systems only support HDD's up to a certain size I believe!
