6800LE to 6800GT

Cause the 6800GT is too expensive for me, i want to but the 6800LE and flash it to a 6800GT. Is this possible? I'm going to keep it cool with my WaterCooling so, cooling is no problem for me. Has anyone did this before, and which mark is the best to overclock, XFX?

Your memory and core will be slower though you can unlock to 16 pipes and get near enough to it's performance. UNfrotunately someone warned me in another thread that there are newer cores out that can't be unlocked. Try getting an old card.

well ive done this mod i flashed the bois 2 a gt but the thing is the memory is slower and ddr but i have had good performance out of it the only problem is not all 6800le`s run at 16x6 without artifacts 11500 on 3dmark 03 and 5k on 05 the highest i got the card clocked to was around 390\900 but still better than a standard 6800 and unfortunatlly i have had 2 6800le`s which blown on me so its risky but can benfit so you could call it the 6800gt with downsyndrom memory

afa i rememeber for nv cards therewere some nifty prog, which let u use different bioss on ur vga in memory mod with/O real flashin it... & if it wirks then use nvfalsh or.. as well...

Dont flash a 6800LE/NU to GT, they dont have GDDR3 and it probably will kill the card.
