Maybe, but a much more accurate way is to read what is written on the memory.

I don't know what my X800XL has for memory(Was so eager to Slap on the Silencer and Pop It In).....but I know It'll do 580 Mhz Max Speed(Memory) and 460Mhz(Core)......More If I ever get to doing a Volt Mod On It.
If your using the Stock cooler.....Swap It out for a Better cooler....It's more than likely Holding back your memory OC......Excess Heat from the Core Bleeds out across the PCB of the Card Increasing the memory temps.....Hindering the memory Speeds.

Imo is the stockcooler of this card good enough (playin F.E.A.R. at max. 60°C). The RAM is passive cooled - at the front- and backside. And if i dismantle the cooler i´ll loose warranty :o
Thats the problem ;) But thanks for response.

Hubie, it doesnt matter about dismantling the stock cooler and putting on another one! You have already voided your warranty by overclocking :D
Its better to get after-market cooling. .especially if you have overclocked! :)
Just for the record, the Arctic Cooler range features front and rear memory/ram cooling :D

Hmm.. okay i´ll think about changing the cooler :)
But i have read a lot of dying 9800Pro´s with a Silencer after app. 2 years... Do you think they already solved the problem??? Something with the voltage and the fan was wrong (as far i can remember).
Thanks a lot.
bye Hübie
btw: it´s cool to see that you can´t write the ü :p :D

Arctic Cooling have just updated all of their coolers. They have now solved fan and power problems, so the old problems should not occur anymore! :D
Most people get a better cooler after overclocking, i have a 9800pro > flashed
to 9800XT, and i have neva had any problems with it. Infact, i'm just about to sell it on to a friend :D
All the best
Adam
