Discussion (applies to both gamma and fan):

- a profile has stored fan control information inside
- user disables "override fan speeds" in settings
- user selects profile to load on main screen and clicks on "load"

should it a) load the fan settings or b) not load the fan settings?
Same for profile loaded on startup/3d detection/hotkey?

Please give your opinion and state why

before 0.25, when it is disabled, the fan runs at the manufactures speed settings right?

if yes then the profile should load the fan settings because in 1 profile i want the fan to run at my speeds and in another profile manufactures speeds.

Just a suggestion, it might be useful to show the fan speed on the front end of the program so that people can see what is happening.

The temp in the wrong place. The temp of the GPU is in the place of the chip temp.

No Way to add the Option to let control the FanSpeeds by Kerner Driver?

It happened only in this beta version, and my card is Club3D 9800SE (256 Bit).
And this is happening even when I turn off all other applications (firewall, antivirus, MBM…).

mdm is this reproducable?

acrowley: no easy way .. and i really dont see a problem with launching atitool at system start which takes like 0.2 seconds and since it closes itself after loading the profile is doesnt consume any memory

I start it manually (not with windows), and I am not loading any profile, what I meant was the curios clock detection. And it’s happening every time in this version, but never before!
I don’t even dare to launch a profile with it!

Fan control is fixed, but yeah the Temps are still reversed

With Kernel Driver ist more comfortable...i dont must use Profiles ,start Atitool or somewhat.....

I only have to edit the FanSpeed one time...and thats a really good Feature ,what i like with AtiTool.
In this Way i can edit the FanSpeeds more "fundamentally".....

you are the programmer..

Hi
It should load the fan settings as if you have saved them to a particular profile then when loading that profile you would want the fan settings to be set as well. However, if the fan controls on this version are like beta 3 then it is academic as the fan controls were kaput on that beta version.

Acrowley - why are you making a big fuss about this? Wizzard is spot on - it hardly makes any difference - just set ATI Tool to start up with window and exit thereafter. No idea what your problem is regarding this.

Wizzard: By the way - is the resume from standby problem fixed in this version also?

Temps reversed for 7800gtx. It's also not detecting the ENV temp value or GPU fan speed.

edit: Not that it is necessarily supposed to catch those last two. Winfox2 and everest manage to pick them up though so they are output.

mbm: it does not happen with beta 3? can you dump your bios and email it to me?

isaacs: right now atitool doesnt do anything special on resume from standby .. so i assume you lose fan control and clock settings, please verify so i can do a proper fix

Hi W1zzard,
I have same Problem as mdm with my ATI 9800np from Dell. Beta 3 works without Problems.

Hi. I have the same problem with an Asus 9600XT. Beta 3 works fine

And another question: did you remove the Asus fan control? While basic, it worked for me in beta1, now I can't get any fan control (beta3/4). And that Asus app is really annoying :(

Thanks
Sorin

(1) I have tested it when resuming from standby and yes I still lose fan control - but not clock settings so can you make a fix fo rhtis please. (2) I also have tested the fan control in this version when running normally and it seems to work well - the only problem and it is a major problem is that becuase the temps are reversed the fan control sees the gpu environment temp as the temp to monitor and so believes the gpu is a lower temp than it really is which will lead to overheating and crashes.
