I’ve been looking at getting a laptop that can play games but not cost to much ($1,500 and under), I’ve looked at most of the major company’s and around the forums to see any ones people have linked to any good ones, the ones I have narrowed it down to is the
- Gateway Notebook with Mobile AMD Athlon™ 64 Processor 3700+
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7267815&type=product&productCategoryId=cat01174&id=1117177722061
Or the
- Hewlett-Packard ZD8000. http://www.shopping.hp.com/webapp/shopping/computer_series.do?series_name=zd8000_series&catLevel=2&category=notebooks/hp_pavilion&storeName=computer_store
Which one should I get? or can I get a link to a good one?

Both have a X600 which sucks, its a 9600 non-pro for PCI-E. Plus they have an Athlon 64, and the other has a Pentium 4 desktop chip. Both will suck down a battery before you could do anything useful.
This has a Turion, an ultra low power Athlon 64 based chip, and a X700 Mobile which is about the same as a 9800XT. DVD Burner, wifi, gigabit lan.

Would still smack around the X600 with 128 mb.

60 gb hard drive and a dvd-rom/cdrw but a 128 mb 9700. Would still be better than a 64 mb x700.

Yeah, its called the agp aperature. It will allocate some system ram for dedicated graphics memory.

Every board is different, but ive yet to see a motherboard without agp aperature settings.
