does any one have one of these cards if so is it just a pci-e card that is compatible with an agp slot or is it something totally different ?

i dont believe that there are any pci e --> agp connectors

there are pci-e cards that work on an agp slot by having a bridge chip,to convert the pci-e native gpu to an agp interface.

ATi AGP cards use a Rialto bridge chip. This allows them to place a pci-e chip onto a AGP pcb.

its a rialto bridge chip, for ati anyway, , ye it enables a pci-e gpu connect to the agp bus,
my 1950 has one near the agp connection
