Ok Im lookin to replace my PNY 6600GT 128mb card, I got it a few days ago to replace my x800GTO AGP card that was messin up, but im just not happy with the preformance decrease. And the other issue is that the 7600GTAGP, 7800GS, x1950pro, x1900gtAGP cards are dried up, and the 7900GS AGP cards are overpriced at 190 bucks at least in my opion. I was looking at the x1650pro or the HD2600pro, which would offer the best bang for the buck?

Get an 8600GT instead. Get one with GDDR3, not DDR2. The prices are about the same as the 7600GT now. Some of them will overclock very well and you will be faster than a X800XT.

I'd also suggest you get a dual channel RAM kit instead of 1 DIMM. 2x512 or 2x1GB....

Why would you spend all this money on obsolete components. Go with at least a AM2 chip, AM2 mobo, and use the same ram and video card you spec'd.

You can get AM2 chips for really cheap.

this is my backup, my main had the 7950GT fry on it and eVga is rmaing me an 8800GT replacement as the 7950GT apperntly dried up. My main box is AM2.

AMD Athlon X2 3800
2gb DDR2 800 Supertalent Cas5
ASUS M2V-MX
8800GT (RMA replacement)

This older 754 rig was shelved for about 6 months and when i had to get it out cause the 7950GT blew i noticed the x800 going bad so i paid a friend 49 bucks for the 6600GT, but well I have friends over to game from time to time and well we all like Crysis and i know a 6600GT cant handle it. The only other thing im looking at is on ebay there is a 6800Ultra going for 80 buy it now.

those specs seem fine, no reason to thro too much money in a backup rig. and the 7600gt is a beast for it's price.

i think you'll be pleasantly surprised with the performance of an 8800GT
