i would say yes.. but if u want to play at the new 1608 x 1050 native resolution.. u need a grafix card up to the job.. but my answer would be yes.. i would not go back from widescreen..

more opinons required on this one thow.. cos some would say it isnt.. are u getting ghosting on your old monitor for example.. if u are it will be noticable.. if u arnt it wont..

monitors are very subjective.. no hard and fast answers.. sorry

i think my 8800gt can handle the job :P

just mainly wanna upgrade because well I've heard it changes the gaming experience a rather lot going from a normal LCD to a wide screen but I'm not exactly sure if it would be worth the money though. i mean i can afford it but i dunno... still pretty unsure.

does it change the gaming experience vastly like every seems to claim?

edit:

@ NONYA: ahh thx i might look into getting one from a different company then :P

i was thinking about the 225 myself but got this one instead because it has better contrast better picture and the stand is about an inch bigger all the way around so its not as wobbly. by the way 22" is WAY bigger than 19" :D

some people are surprised thinking "its just 3 more inches" but when you see it

by the way i got mine from amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B000VYBMH0/ref=dp_olp_1

scroll down and you will see it for $249 + 11.99 s&h from huilulu2

i got it from fedex in 2 days in perfect condition with no dead pixels

what more can you ask for, plus i didnt have to wait on a rebate

ahh cool thx

yeah I've noticed that the 22" will make a lot of difference for different things though.. i watch a lot of game ads and so on (mainly because it helps me make up my mine if i want the game when i see in game footage) and a lot of them are wide screen to that extra 3" (plus the fact its wide screen) does increase the size of the video a great deal seeing as it will get rid of those damn black lines up the top of down the bottom of those.

sorry if that didn't make any sense but i have trouble concentrating when some guy is talking at me (is whats happening where i am currently)

been extremely happy with my 22" Samsung ,no dead pixels and zero ghosting on even the fastest moving games ive tried,my old 19" Hanns-G 5ms did ghost slightly on a couple of games,so i can recommend at least my model of Samsung without hesitation.

Hell yeah my samsung has been a dream come true. Mine don't look to bad in 1200 res either you can tell but i guess i am not all that picky if need to use that res in games..

My eye's get bugged no were as much now by using this LCD if they do it's because i am tired which is not the LCD's fault.

My only wish was i could of get a 24" which runs at 1600x1200 res \ 1680 x 1050... I did not pick widescreen due to some games coming out and having issue's with it like Bioshock and Armed Assault to name a few resent ones.

Hope your hardware can cope with that res.. I been thinking of just getting a 32" screen and running lower res like 480i/480p/720p.
For example http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16889102128
Costy yes but would i need to buy a new GPU all the time ?..

for those that dont know ,this is a forum dedicated to "widescreen gaming" has lots of fixes and things to get those older games running natively in widescreen, has been most usefull over the last year or so.

yeah I doubt I'd buy bioshock or armed assault so i should be fairly fine there :P

I'm also pretty sure my PC could handle that screen xD

main specs:

CPU: AMD Athlon 6000+ Duelcore 64bit (AM2)
Memory: Crucial Ballistix TRACER 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
Graphics Card: NVIDA GeForce 8800GT HDMI
