ey guys :), as you know my other card mysteriously died after 3 days :(, sent my 8800gt for a replacement, they recieved it and tested it. apparently the memory fried itself
The cooler was believed to have been cooking the ram because of the fan speed being so low , a lot of people have had the same thing, with their ram dieing and also because most of them overclock their card to 1000mhz it just make's things worse :(
(i would advise people with the 8800gt to increase the fan speed to anything beyond 60%, or get better cooling, however since the updated 8800gt with the bigger fan, the problem is pretty much fixed)
well anyway they gave me a nice suprise :D, they sent me the ECS 8800GT 512X, with the AC Accelero S1 cooler :rockout: including the turbo modules :respect:.
apparently they sent this card to me in goodwill, they have just recieved a shipment of these and that many people believe its one of the best in the bunch, i had a reference 8800gt that idle'd at 54 degree's with the fan at stock (29%) and 47 degree's with the fan @ 75%
Now with this card with no fans attached i get 44 degree's idle and 52 degree's load o.O, and with the turbo modules i get 38 degree's idle and 45 degree's load :twitch::twitch:
the ram has aluminium heatsinks and the mosfets do also :)

Note: the 8800gt in the review is from revision A1, i however have the improved revision A2 which includes the extra mosfet cooling, and also lower core temps and i have noticed a strange jumper connection that was not on the revision A1 near the 6 pin power connector on the top of the card  (will take pics), could this have dual bios's that was with the Turbo 8600gt? or does it enable higher voltages, maybe an overclock increase?
if anyone has any info on this that would be extremely appreciated
so i think i will be doing some big overclocks on this card :p , that i could hardly do on my last card :(
the card is @ stock clocks 600/1500/1800, with a simple bios vmod and with the cooling included im sure i will get above 700/1800/2000 :)
Note: this 8800GT does not use a reference pcb, i have no idea if any pcb layers have been removed, if anyone has any info that would be great
i would like to thank overclockers for their speedy support and their generous gift :D
