You should buy a sound card before buying a new mobo! if you dont overclock then there is no need in a new mobo....
A sound card will greatly improve the sound of music and gaming. I think that would be in your best interest!

I say go for some watercooling for the proc and video card, then OC both of em. And it'll look cool.
Sound card would be next on the list.
MB/CPU down towards the bottom...

Make your 1Tb array a data array, and buy 2-3 Raptors 36Gb and RAID 0 them for your OS/application array.

i agree, you need to run dual channel so add another stick or what would be better is take out one stick  thats right all you need is 2gb and with 32bit vista you cant use 4gb anyway unless you up vista to 64bit.
2gb in dual channel is faster than 3gb in single channel which is what you get when running odd number sticks so if you feel you have to have 3gb get a set of 2x512 to replace that one odd stick.

If this system is for gaming, and unless you are heavily invested in DX10, I would personally switch to Windows XP. Don't go out and buy a whole new copy or anything, but if you have one to spare...use it.
Yes, Vista lovers, to forestall an argument I know that Vista can be tweaked and massaged and adjusted to be almost as fast in some cases. ;)
