i'm thinking of building a SFF system, Shuttle SX38P2-Pro, but what i really want to know and having a hard time finding out is if a sapphire 3870 single slot card will fit in that machine

that will be a tough one, and probably depend on your motherboard.

You'll need to see where the PCi-E slot lines up and measure the length - also make sure its not a half height case.

You should be a'ight Phase. The P2 chassis are somewhat larger compared to the original G series. You should be able to squeeze a 3870 in there. Someone here at TPU told me that their 3850 is the same dimensions as my X1950 which I've managed to fit into my G5 without any modifications. I only have to remove the PCI banking plate - which I plan on returning once I can be arsed.
