Huh? Only functional for a month max? Not sure what you mean here. 4005@1.34v is awesome, and low vcore too. My e8400 is on the way (as of 1/22).:D
EDIT: :slap: me. I guess I should have checked the link to see those crazy temps! Trying to overclock to 4ghz on the stock cooler. dumbass. :slap:

Why not try? It's not like he kept it with stock cooler, already has an aftermarket one. Temps didn't seem to drop to much, so I'm doubting he has plenty airflow in his case.

i did read somewhere the 8xxxx chips come with inferior celeron coolers.. not as good as the 6xxxx range
temps reading dont seem to make lot of sense thow.. that one seems way too hot for the core voltage..

E6550 had the exact same cooler as my E4300 and that again was the same as what came with s775 Pentium 4s. Doubt it's anything else than the years old same thing all over again :)

He's saying tjunction is 105 so it can take more, mebbe its true? My tjunction is 100 and apparently you can run them(6750) at <70 all day.
That temp,95c is really very high tho'

to be fair to the guy the chip prob does get to that rating aswell as getting to those temps, but somehow i think if he paid all that money for a chip like that he would have got a good cooler to go with it,aswell as a ddr3 mobo:)

Err at stock speeds the TDP of the E8400 is less than that of the E4xxx series. And Note that the E4xxx series uses a Aluminium slug cooler for stock cooling-which is rather satisfactory. I wouldn't be surprised at those temperatures with that E8400 at that speed, I assume that the stock E8400 cooler has a slower running fan as well. The days where godlike cooling is needed for 4Ghz is over! (And My Ultra 120 can be considered as overkill now :p).

it was forum post from a guy that worked at the dispatch factory.. there is kind of logic there.. they are die shrunk and use less power so if true it makes sense..
they certainly dont need a P4 cooler.. i think its was the copper base that was supposed to be missing.. so what was.. dont always have to be.. he he he
