Putting up an ftp and i want to know if i must unblock the passive port on my router and nwhich protocol should i unblock. also how narrow can i set the range?

Port 20&21 need to be forward to the IP of the FTP server.

At 7.55 ppd you would expect someone to have read the guidelines. Bumping is rude.
Port 21 alone should be enough in most scenarios.

Try a free online port scan to make sure your ISP is not blocking the ports.

i used another port than the default because 21 doesnt seem to work at all ... with the other port u can login but the buck stops there ... even though 20,21 and XXXX are free the scan say only 80 and XXXX are free
