Hi,
I softmodded my Powercolor 9800SE , and it booted to desktop oK with no artifacts, (I assume that this doesn't work the card to much). However, when I attempted to run 3D mark, immediately wings of fury began, the whole thing looked a mess, with not just artifacts, but huge misshapen areas of black. So it appears that my card is one of the ones that is not moddable.
Ok, so I revert to the old drivers, reboot, and check...ATI tools confirms only 4 pipelines...
run 3D mark again..same thing! I understand that you can't harm the card softmodding, so I put in a new 9600XT, and it works fine!
Anyone have any ideas on this?
BTW, before the mod, I installed an Artic rev3 cooler to the 9800SE. This couldn't have caused problems though surely?
cheers
Nick
