With my old Abit board I overclocked my Venice 2.0 - 2.5 with C & Q enabled and with no performance hit. I like this because it allowed my CPU to stay cooler even though overclocked.
With my new system below, it turns out that if you change the multiplier it kicks off C & Q. I read somewhere that overclocking by raising the multiplier takes some of the pressure off of the CPU. I didn't change the multiplier at all with the Abit board but went from 13 to 14 with this board and right now went from 200 to 210.
I only want to get to around 3.1 or so with this 5000BE. Is it true that it is better for the CPU to use the multiplier also? And if so, is there a way to get C & Q back on and change the multiplier also? Thanks.
