View Full Version : ATI silencer 1 question

On my video card, i only have 45mm X 45mm to work with, with 1 resister right above and one to the left of the stock heatsink. Do you think that the ATI silencer 1 will fit? Here is a shot of the card with the resisters pointed out.

Find a site with complete compatibility tables, that's all I can suggest.

If the ATI silencer 1 is anything like the rev. 3, which I suspect it is, the base that makes contact with the core is only ~30mm x ~60mm rectangular. However - that base will sit over the the clear area at the top of your card, clearing the two memory chips. From there it goes up about 15mm to connect with the bulk of the silencer, thus clearing many card components. I think that you'll be fine with the silencer numero uno.

You could cut out/sand down/grind off a little hole for the resistor and then cover the hole with fingernail polish and get it to fit. Fingernail polish to keep it from shorting.
