I have a set of crucial Balistix 1066 memory and would like to get them to 1066 or atleast close. I have changed my memory freq. in bios to 533 and have changed a few settings in the timings, but still CPUz reads dram freq. at 303.9... Shouldn't this stuff run at 1066 out of the box? I changed the BIOS setting back to 800 and the dram freq. is at 476. The same it was with my old memory,,

In the last pic it still shows the memory as PC2 6400 (400mhz)

whats up???

Yeh might not be at the right voltage there. Troubles sticking at 533 indicate you're on less than 2.2v. It'd give it a shot, run out of juice, and go back to what it can do better.

The last page is the ram reporting what it is designed for, not any real time changes.

Its running at 800mhz right now and the Voltage is at 2.2v

Found out why....

Reading the back of my Asus M3A32-MVP motherboard box it says that it supports 1066 memory only when a AM2+ (phenom) is used.... Sucks lolz Now they need to get those processors closer to 3 gigs before I'll buy one.

Just run at the highest it supports and overclock the processor accordingly ;)

Backed the multiplier down to 12 and bumped the FSB up to 280 to give me a processor speed of 3360 mhz. This backed the CPU down to 6 and has the memory clocked at 1120 mhz with the timings at 5-4-4-8 and running very stable. Passed memtest 86 with no problems and am now 6 hours into a 12 Othoes run.

If you go on Newegg.com and look at the reviews for that RAM, people were stating what they had to do to get 1066 out of the RAM. I was just looking at them today. I dont remember what they said, however.

yea you can get some pretty awesome timings, i had a set of 4GB of those thing but they wouldnt OC worth a damn however i was able to get some awesome timing with my 780i, got 1066Mhz@4-3-3-9/2.3V, didnt bother to see if i could get it any lower as it was already fast.

1120 is pretty good for a pc-6400 my Crucial Ballistix 6400's can only push 1000MHz before getting all screwy.

i wanna get the reaper's ddr2-1150MHz and see if i can get the timings to 4-3-3-8

my ballistix will do 1066 just fine with the phenom, all i have to do is set the ram speed to 1066 in the bios, its that simple :)

I have a pair of 1Gb OCZ reaper 1066.
Currently running at 1190Mhz / 2.35V 4-5-5-9 2T. Rock Stable.
I had the same issues before i bumped up the voltage to 2.3 which it stated to do on the packaging.

Hi,

I got that 9850 BE to 2.9 GHz on air, 3.2 Ghz on WC .... What holds you ? If you like clocking your RAM, why not the CPU ?

Cheers,

Dirk

AMD Athlon does not support Ram bus 1066, only Phenom support. You will have to OC it, there is no way your Athlon can run 1066 out of the box.
