My pick would have to be the hack and slash Severance: Blade of Darkness, by Codemasters. You can slice up you foes and then beat them down with their own body parts in their pool of blood. EXCELLENT! :D

Dark Age of Camelot (every expansion also).

I mean hell, who do you think coined the term battlegrounds? Furthermore, the people who invented and created the concept (and not to mention brought it to reality).

Also, Uncharted Drakes Fortune.

Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines.

Upon release it was hammered because it was riddled with bugs. It uses a very unoptimised Source Engine, however the story is still one of the best to date. It has awesome replayability (must have replayed it about 10 times by now), and it is still being developed by the community (Unofficial patches and the like).

Community has been great with that game even though the publisher and such gave in so early.

Condemned is my pick. Thinking about it a few F1 2002 SBK Superbike 2001 ( new version soon :) :) ). Gunship and Longbow.

Game is awesome, it will be WELL worth anyones time since the replayability is through the roof.
Another kind of old school game during the half-life era that was quite overlooked was the Thief-series games. Thief 1 (best story out of series), Thief 2, Thief: Deadly Shadows (decent, came out around deus ex 2 with a more modified engine)

It really was addictive. Went to level 31 but then it stared to get boring. I liked the stuff we could do with the sword(Climbing wall etc).

Even I forgot Serious Sam 2. If the gameplay doesn't get you the comedy will.

some of the random levels take on a new meaning in coop as well. One of them is a... well its some kinda of TV show game where you get in a spiked ball and jump through hoops on fire. Yes, its an FPS game with oddness.

on your own, its challening - in MP you have your buddies backing you up... and bashing you out of the way to get there first. it realy changes the game WITHOUT ruining it, as some games would be by so many players.

Most of the good games i played got the attentions and ratings they deserved :D

But, I got one:

Stubbs the Zombie

http://www.macobserver.com/article/2005/09/stubbs.jpg

The gameplay was sometimes meh, but the soundtrack, overall style and pitchblack humor just made it a nice game. Near the end it got a bit repetitive, but oh well, what doesn't.

Gunz. I've played it. In international gunz, I was level 50. I gave away a level 35 to some random person, and had about 5 level 20+ characters...

North American gunz was cool until they added that gay narriration shit. And it was gay. Not like unreal tournament narriation at all...

The most underrated game in my view is Still Life. Mann you've got to play that game.
The graphics were awesome, sound fantastic and the best part was the storyline.
The story keeps you glued to the monitor for hours and hours till you finish the game off.
A must try for every gamer out there.
And a must must play for adventure fans. Go out and download the demo NOW.

I'm thinkin Sudeki might have been a better game than most though. I got it from a local game shop for 4 bucks, excellent. Put 20 hours in it, and it's still a twisting mess of storyline. A little corny and stereotypical on the voice-acting, but good. The 1v1 Boss Battles are great... if you can figure out what character is targeted beforehand.

Oh, and the grunting, when the chicks climb up walls and ladders... omg... yeaaah.

Sudeki is +1 in my book.

There are a couple of games i really liked no one else seemed to bother about.

Serious Sam (all of em) really fun games just pure frag and even his cheesy one liners that attempted to be like Duke Nukem i enjoyed disgracefully. I tend to think of Sam as a cousin of Duke for some reason or other. It had good weapons and vehicles were useful, had a decent story and was structured in a way that it was difficult at times but not in the annoying cant do this way.

NOX this was a seriously addictive RPG, i mean come on you can go a warroir who is minted with weapons and armour, a conjurer who can spell a bear and is medium with armour is great with bows or a wizard who sucks at everything excpet is dino with spells that are sometimes better than warrior or conjurer attacks. Had an excellent story with a good difficulty curve, not bad 2d graphics and was fun to play. Bad online but no one back then had internet near me and i had dial up.

Galactic civilizations 2 i mean man for a rip off of the mighty civilization it was pretty addictive i even still play it. Had good units and was changeable to suit every difficulty, the storyline was crappy but turn based campaigns usually arnt that good.

Medieval Total War 2 well i know it got good reviews but not that many picked it up im sure, most people just said it was like Rome Total War but with new units well damn it Rome Total War done in Medieval was great had me gripped trying to get a good army and defend my cities at the same time. It was interesting that you moved your units around and then zoomed to the battlefield, it was historically accurate and had meaty graphics for such a large game.

Ground Control 2 hmmmn really enjoyed this game it should have had some more types of units maybe some larger ones but in all a good game good graphics fun and challenging at times. They seemed touse the word "krayshit" a lot.

ALSO agree about Tribes Vengance i mean even tho Half Life 2 is the best damn game i ever played it was fricken fun i liked how the story unfolded and the different weapons ect it just felt different from the usual crappy sameish FPS. Its multiplayer is very good, i got this for £5 and after a while i just had other games to play but it was fun. Man it had good graphics for its time and i liked the skis you could use lol.

Star Wars Republic Commando was a very good FPS that was underrated IMO, yeah it was a really good console game and some said for a pc game it could have been better but i disagree, it had a cool gun that was a combo of many weapons, the squads were mostly intelligent and had decent controls, at the time it had good graphics and was fun, IT WAS STAR WARS also a bonus, it had a good story but was way to short. I think when i played it i ran through most of the game in 1 go, COST ME £15 a bargain and that was just a month after it was out still have the game might fire it up again for the memories.

Lots of forgotten heroes but i suppose theres so many games we tend to miss out on some would be classics.

das müffin mann

republic commando was good except it was ridiculously hard, the super battle droids took almost all your ammo to take down(unlike the movies) but other than that it was a good game

i would say "drakan" it was a pretty cool game where you have a flying dragon as your helper and you get off to go fight in caves and stuff but single player only.

i really enjoyed it but it died quickly as another company bought out that company and "improved it" so it wasnt ever seen again lol.

i heard they renamed it or something but it wasnt worth playing after they got ahold of it.
