I'm running 4x 1GB Crucial Ballistix PC4000 Tracers http://i4memory.com/showthread.php?t=1316 and can run 64M systools pi calculation fine but 128M gives out of mem errors even when I have 4GB of memory. Also noticed 64M pi calculation guesses 960MB mem allocation but real peak mem used is 1.2+ GB ?

you cant compare superpi and systool pi calculation methods ... completely different ..

for a "guess" it's quite close ..

do you have a 64-bit windows where you could try if it can calculate 128m there?

If it's any help. I get an oops out of memory message if I try and run 128m pi

i'll remove the 128m pi .. maybe make a 100m one or so

well i found part of the reason is winxp pro 32bit by default can only address max 2GB per process for applications http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/system/platform/server/PAE/PAEmem.mspx

guess 64bit OS is needed for more

maybe add pi test patterns for 40M and 80M ? or make it use configurable ? they can enter in a number ?

configurable wont work because i have to supply the precalculated "correct" data so that the benchmark can detect calculation errors
