laptop ram upgrade question?

i have a acer aspire 3502wlmi laptop with 2 x 256 pc2700 ddr333 ram, atm its 1:1 100 fsb

i want to run ddr400 ram which hopefully means an auto ratio of 1:2 (cpu100:200ram)

manual says ddr333, crucial and kingston say its ddr400 capable.

if i bought ddr400 would it still be compatible with mobo even tho its not ddr400 capable. in other words my question, can i run ddr400 ram on ddr333 mobo? will it auto lower ram speed down if not accept it?

Yes, it will work.

It would just run at ddr333.

It all must be the same timings in order for this to happen.

im after 2 x 512mb sticks at 3-3-3-8 . right now i think its cl 2.5 , will the 512 be fine?
