There was a simple correction that I needed to make. I also found that I needed to have steam running BEFORE running my script. the corrected script is below.

Glad that you got it working! Vista has a real problem with steam running games... Apexdreamer (http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=44036&highlight=hl2.exe) had the same problem as you and I did. It was a real easy fix. So, what games are you playing on steam?

I just finished half life 2, im somewhere near the beginning/middle of episode 1. I've had my computer for about 6 months now and haven't OC'd anything, because I haven't really needed to, but I'm interested in running some newer games like crysis, UT3, and FEAR (ok newer compared to hl2) and would like to be able to play with some nicer settings so I'm probably going to start trying to OC the cpu and video card, 3dmark just pissed me off when I ran it, so I stumbled upon TPUbench which would let me batch run benchmarks on the games i already own to test my OC :)

I'm pretty happy about it. Now I just have to record a demo in HL2 so I can benchmark it...

thats pretty nice man. What type of system do you have? Where all ways looking for a noobie who wants to oc it! Plus if you have any of the new video cards, we have a modder from hell for both... Solaris17 for the 8000 series, and Random Murderer for the Hd3870's... Plus we got the others that have done it and willing to help.

thanks... i have a core 2 quad at 2.4 ghz, 4gb of memory, and an 8600 gt. All wrapped up in a nice little shuttle box. samsung 226bw monitor.

I used to OC a lot in college, but then I had a laptop for a while, and like I said I just got this system last september...
