Just curious if anyone has heard of this brand. I was looking at the 3870s today and the two cheaper cards (visiontek/sapphire) each have awful fans.

this apollo card looks like it has a better fan, (looks like a zalmanvf900) but does anyone have any experience with the brand?

that card looks alot like the ones from china. i dont think apollo make em, rather import and slap their sticker on probably. it might be part of palit, cos the chinese companies seem to be owned by palit (gainward, xpertvision)

Kinda hard to trust a company that isn't well known in this hardware industry.

Both Power Color and HIS make good products, though HIS is much better IMO. Not to mention the Ice-Q cooler is really nice. I'd go with that one, without hesitation.

the rumours about the HIS turbo would make it a no no for me.. read the guys review say its a good card even thow its unstable at stock speeds.. what a prat..
the cards based on the ati reference design are the best ones.. the HIS turbo would be good if it came clocked a little lower..

Apollo VGA and GeCube are pretty much the same corp. Both have terrible build quality although they are usually cheaper than their competitors, up to 25% sometimes.
Unless you are on a really tight budget, I would stay away from both. Loose capacitors, poor PCB quality, underclocked/non-spec components, you name it I've experienced it with Apollo/GeCube.

Well, Apollo has been around a LONG time. Although, that doesn't necessarily mean they're any good. :)
And when it comes to ATI warranties, honestly, I don't expect much out of any of them.
After reading what addsub said, sure am glad I went with something else over the Apollo 3850 last month.

I have the HIS 3870 IceQ3 Turbo, and have had no issues with stability. The cooler is quiet, although I did increase the fan speed a little with Rivatuner.
