Auzentech Now Offers Swappable OPAMPs

Operational Amplifier (OPAMP) influences analog sound quality, because OPAMPs amplify the analog signal in your soundcard. With a higher quality OPAMP, the signal is transferred with less loss and distortion. Now all Auzentech PCI soundcards support swappable OPAMPs to provide the highest-quality audio to Auzen customers. Buyers are now offered to order the desired sound devices directly from Auzentech with the custom OPAMPs installed, or choose the amplifiers they need and install them manually. Nice marketing gimmick. But in practice... the cost of building "swappable" connectors plus needing to stock multiple versions is, in practice, more expensive that just putting the higher quality amp circuits on all boards.

At least they get some free marketing space for the idea.

this is not only a great idea(PATENT IT, AUZEN!), but a great move on auzentech's part. their cards are already high quality, but to allow swappable op-amps is awesome for audiophiles, and eliminates the need or desire to hotrod an x-fi.

different op-amps provide different sound signatures, so in essence this is better than just "swapping up," since each user may have different tastes.

@Random Murderer: Sorry for offtopic, but what kind of temps you get with youre xigmatek cooler when using coretemp or some other temp monitor program that monitors core temps??? Have you lapped it anything?? And another question, what voltage do you have on youre Q6600 OC? Thx for any answers.

This is the dumbest thing going.

Lets take some 10$ components and charge 60$ for them.

Anyone who doesn't have the knowledge to do this without auzentech's help shouldnt be doing it at all.

Ummm . . . Auzen has been offering swappable OPAMPs for a while -

it appears they've made the process a bit easier by offering a selection of OPAMPs (whereas they didn't before) and possibly improving the socket design on the cards.

I really wish Creative would start doing this on their high end models, though
