why should it not oc all 3 clocks? when it is scanning the running mode is 3d perf anyway

It shouldn't because the card will lock instantly when 2D clocks are set too high! :eek: Actually that's no problem as long as the card stays in 3D performance mode, just make sure that it doesn't return to 2D with clocks set too high for 2D.

in my experience the 3d view has the highest load of everything i tested

Not for Nvidia cards I fear, Atitool reaches about 65C with my settings while BF2 and FEAR reach about 70C.

Just noticed a minor inconvenience when clock speed changes are made outside of Atitool. Seems as if Atitool only refreshed the slider window when it loses focus.

I'm using Rivatuner atm to dynamically change fan-speed and to dynamically overclock my core and memory once the card enters 3D mode. While the "Current clocks" show the change at once the sliders don't change/refresh until the AT windows loses focus. After that the sliders show the new current value.

I almost always leave it set to 15%, its quiet, yet keeps the GPU cool

Version beta8 has the GPU and Environment temps around the right way (it now shows the GPU as hotter then RAM)

You will have to change fliename from attachment.php to attachment.exe and then double click o it in order to install this tweaker.

New version works a lot better. No problem's detected yet. Also no registry error's (as "error=cannot read 000x34e...").

Now I used ATITool with all my ATI cards...I now see there is support for nVidia because I run Dual BFG 6800GT OCs. I am testing it right now but from what I see it only overclocks the one card...is there going to be a way for it to apply the clocks to both cards?

It temperature show on ASUS X700Pro don't right . It's alternate between GPU temp and Memory chip . Normaly is top table will GPU temp but now it show chip temp. So or you change the position ? Can see the pic. :)

download the PHB documant ,then just rename it to a .exe file and then you can install it ,thats what i did and it worked

there has never been a "mem" temperature .. temperature of the temp chip is the temperature of the pcb which is pretty close to the actual memory temperature .. maybe add 5°c

just wanted to report something that looked like a bug : I installed some kind of windowsblind look'n feel enhancer with a tool called "Y'z shadow" that adds a cool shadow around every window : well it makes the 3d cube and even the countdown very choppy/jumpy.

don't think it's atitool any fault (but maybe something might be done about it), just wanted to prevent any false alarm.

The Standby/Hibernate Problme still exists with (since)the whole 0.25beta Series.

Everytime after Hibernating or Standby AtiTool cannot load the Profile with FanControl and Cock Settings.. I only get the defaults..

With "0.24" it is working fine...
Maybe ist a Problem now ,because the Fan Control is removed from Kernel Driver ?...

I hope you can fix it ,i really need working Profiles after Hibernating /Standby Mode

i was running artifact scan last night on my 6800gt with no oc or anything after like 2min i turn it off and my screen goes all funny colors i reboot nothing happend it was still the same so i shut down and took a shower then i started it back up and now its all good. :confused:

ATITool 0.25 beta 8 causes computer to hang when resuming from standby or hibernation.
Version 0.25 beta 2 worked fine.
Only default clocks in use, no over-/underclocking.
If I start up ATITool and then immediately close it the computer still freezes on resume so it seems the driver is the culprit.

My GPU is Mobile X700 64MB PCIe, driver Catalyst 5.8 modified with DHmodtool.exe so it would install.
ATI Powerplay is disabled.
Info from ATITool: device 0x5653, M26X, Bus:1,Dev:0


Exact symptoms, resuming from standby:
HDD and fans start normally, display remains blank, computer is completely unresponsive until reset.
I can reproduce this every time (tried 20+ times).
Event Log doesn't log anything.

Resuming from hibernation:
System loads hibernation image normally, Windows loads with a very corrupted screen and freezes.
(tried two times)

After uninstalling ATITool power saving modes works normally.

Other specs:
Acer laptop with Pentium M, Intel 915-series PCIe chipset, 2GB RAM, Windows XP Pro SP2, Centrino Hardware Control installed, it's ATI clock control module DISABLED. Uninstalling CHC doesn't make any difference.

If there's something I can do to help I'd be glad to help.

Since changing to beta 8 im having a strange temperature problem. Sometimes out of nowhere it reports a temperature of 1 degree but all other times its fine. I attached a pic, you can see where it dropped down on the graph.

I was wondering what it means if the GPU temp reads 0 for about 30 sec or so. It seems to do that when I’m playing a graphically intense game or if I’ve turned on a neon cathode. Maybe my PSU isn’t giving enough “juice” to my card? BTW I have a Radeon x800 Pro. Also when I put Fixed Fan speed percentage on 90% it reads 89% and also the noise level goes really low when I put the FAN speed down from 100% to 90%, should it be uber low? When I put the fan speed on 91% it reads 100%. I haven’t tested every speed ( can’t be bothered :p ).

Hey I just dl'd the beta8 and I noticed with both versions (.24) the 3d view "hiccupped" for a lack of better venacular... I played alot of UTGOTY I noticed the mouse "laggin" like I was fullscreen opengl on a socket 7 r sumthing lol when I first ran atitool25.8 I saw options for the tempurature output it hung so I closed via taskmanager through a z board pad lock 6 reopend and it looked just like ver 24 I know there are temperature sensor(s) on my abit V-guru 9550 xtturbo just thought id bleh ty for making this amazing tool:)

BUG Report:
- when you start the 3D View the checking of the frequencies work perfectely passing from 2D ones to 3D ones, BUT NOT VICEVERSA. When you close the 3D view reported frequencies stay fixed to 3D ones, while there should be a checking to write the correct 2D frequencies.

I try this beta for ati tool, and it's works not very good for fan control as ati tray tool in fact...
If i can try an other beta or be a beta user for you fo asus card, i'm the one!

In my opinion there must be an option to disable 2D from "find max core".

I don't know if my english is correct, but i'm trying to help somehow ;).

Oh, and one more thing. In rivaturner you can change fan speed "in fly" (you set the new speed, accept it and it changes). I think that a script which would control fan speed by increasing and decreasing it when temperature exceeds limits (there also should be ability to set those limits). What do you think about that?

when I was trying to load a profile using hotkeys with only gamma setting to be changed, it cannot display the correct contrast. I looked over the profiles and the contrast setting looked like this "Gamma contrast=42,42,0".

I just changed it 42,42,42 and it is OK now but i wonder if it was a bug.

Another problem I am having is that once ATITool detects artifacts, it becomes retarded. It does random things, sometimes it works right and drops the clock every time it detects artifacts other times in the log file it writes that it detected artifacts, and it changed the clocks to what they already are.

It freezes and won't overclock my card safely in this version. I have a Leadtek A400 6800GT, and after it finds artifacts, it backs off but after about 1 minute the screen gets all colorful and blocky, so I have to restart, and if I wait the computer just restarts itself. So ATItool won't safely overclock my 6800 GT, but it does overclock it up to a certain, lower, speed. I know it can run higher because I play games like DOOM 3 with higher clocks and no errors or artifacts, but ATItool makes it crazy. Just thought I would tell you. Thanks

ohh and no no voltmods, i beleave if i voltmodded i could get stable at 650/650 :) the artifacts are minimal so i beleave i could do it
and also i would need to go watercooling and not air or promethia would be ideal :)

Sat quietly at the desktop I watch through Catalyst Control Center - ATI over drive tool, the temperature rise to 90 degrees centigrade (yes it is unsurprisingly quite warm to the touch) then at that point the fan kicks in... noisy thing too... when it drops to 87 degrees it stops... until it quickly reaches 90 again.

I have tried your beta 8 version however and it doesnt seem to work properly... weirdly it finds the minimum memory, but the default gpu clock is 0. I tried clicking Find Max Core but that killed my pc (black screen then reboot) so I was just wondering if you had any advice?

Regarding the fan problem that occurs with some silencers (http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=4012) I have this screenshot to show the immediate aftermath of the card crashing.

As you can see ATiTool shuts off the fan above a certain temp. Quite a problem I think. Any news on this?

BTW I now run my fan at 100% load fixed percentage.

Hows ur case cooling?? A decent case can make a 5-10 degree difference in temp.
My CPU temp went down by about 7 degrees celcius when i got my Tsunami ;)

well, that is kind of the problem :P I bought myself a little SN25P shuttle... having had one previously with no heat issues i figured the new ones couldnt be that much different... but alas they are... in their lack of wisdom the gfx cards are now fan inwards :confused: which makes no sense...

i took the beasty to a lan this weekend :banghead: case was off but room was 8 bodies warm... sooooooooooo many artifacts... was ridiculous... and then to cap it off i was on the receiving end of mockery from the geforce 7800 owners :cry:

W1zzard, I've always been intrigued with your numbering scheme. I suppose the numerous betas are because 0.25 is still not stable enough for you to declare it a release, but why is the tool in the 0.2x since I've heard of it? Do you have criteria to go into 0.3x, etc, all the way to 1.0?

ATITool got fuxored up a few days ago while I was running Guild Wars, textures started messing up and things were generally weird, I alt-tabbed out and clicked on ATITool to see if my card was overheating, it crashed before it opened then I opened it again, reset the overclock and alt-tabbed back into guild wars and there was no corruption. I dont think my card is OC'd too far, I artifact scanned for 2 hours a 425 on the core and im only at 375 right now :wtf:

No, i got the GeCube. The Sapphire suppliers will only have the cards here in about 2 weeks.
I couldn't wait that long.

BTW seems to me all the x1800XL thus far are pretty reference.

I didn't get chance to OC last night. But i did do some intial testing in FEAR.
Ran the FEAR test with everything MAXED out with 2x AA and 8x AS and got a ave of 61 fps, with 90% of the frames being above 60. I wonder if i had vsync on :wtf: :confused:

3dMark05 = 7 200.
3dMark03 = 14 000.

Will let u guys know the OC results tomorrow.

BTW Gameplay is simply awesome with this card :cool:

Well i've OCed my card to XT speeds. Had to bump voltage a bit to be stable.
3dMark05 = 8500. Not bad for a XL.

About Beta 9. I noticed that i constantly get errors when scanning for artifacts but see no artifacts in Games or 3dmark. Otherwise working very nicely. ;)

Wizzard, could u plz add a option for Adaptive AA and HF filtering in next release?

Yeah man, that cube is very random. Sometimes I get 400-500fps with my 6800GT(Ultra), but other times I get around 200-300fps.

Ok, so its probably because im using a really old nvidia card but the new beta really doesnt like it.

It crashes when i try to save a profile, load a profile, create a new profile or click properties for the profile! lol. :D

When it starts up it does not recognise clocks, it says they are at zero, and screws up if i try to set a new frequency with them. Concequentally the artifact scanning max core/memory dont work!

The program seems to pull the details from my card correctly on the settings menu, i.e. Chip type, pipelines etc. and the mouse 'hover-over' on the system tray icon will state the correct core speed, but the wrong memory speed (it repeats the core speed).

Btw, im running a nvidia geforce go5200. :p

So if you fancy trying to fix it please do, otherwise just set some startup option that tells ATI tool to disable all features for this card please, as the 0.24 version works ok. :)

I know 0.25 is only a beta and everything so im not too bothered that it doesnt work but i think the find max mem/core feature is the best ive seen on overclocking programs and am a little upset i cant use it on my card. :(

I thought I was at my threshold, but with the new beta I was able to push 10 more points outa core and memory, so 20 total. Awesome! I have been stuck at 430/370 on my 9800 pro for quite some time, but now I am at 440/380 and no problems.......well getting used to multiplayer online games is a little weird since there isnt so much lag (I dont have to aim infront of a running player to hit them anymore). Maybe it will be possible to change AA and AF mode with NV cards out of tray in future that would be great. And maybe its only with my card but the link sliders together button don't work on my computer if you use the + and - Buttons for changes ?
I now it's still beta but if nobody tell's it can't be fixed in future.
I use it with 81.85 NV driver and with the Catalyst 5.10
I use it with MBM for Sensors and it works realy great.

on the x1800 there will be monitoring for vgpu current. but thats the only card that supports it

Wizzard... I just registered today, but have been using your tool for a long time, and it is a very nice piece of work! I just upgrade from .22 tonight, and decided I would try the beta. After installation, I go to launch the program, and I get an error that says "no supposrted ATI cards detected..." and then it crashes with the windows error reporting service. My card is the AIW 9600XT and has worked fine for a while on older versions. I uninstalled the beta and installed 0.24 and it is working fine, however I wanted to let you know about the crashing issue on the AIW 9600XT.

Again, overall a very nice program, and I thank you for taking the time so produce such a program at no cost to us, :respect:


Edit: Also, if you want to know the "error" from windows, let me know and I will reinstall it to copy that info for you.

Wizzard is busy working on this. These new cards arn't that easy to get working in the OC

Yea, same here, X1800XT maxes out way above the dumb overdrive settings. I hate that overdrive, it is really a pain. why they ever got rid of the control panel is beyond me. Amazing how much I miss ATItool. I only just realized that I put it on as a part of the widows install, I'm lost without it.
