3870x2 fan fix

Guys i might have a fan fix for the 3870x2 for those that are using riva tuner and cant get the fan controls i'm not at my computer atm but i will be in like 10mins so ill try it out and let you know the results fingers crossed.

It WORKS!! and wow the stock cooler can cool it exellent ive got it set to 50% and my idle temps are 30c and even overclocked to 855/955 temps are under 50c:toast:

Can you re post the link to the site you got the fix from as I can't get the file download to work.

This would clearly be the best solution if it works.

the first link doesnt work for me , and the vrzone forum fix , i can replace the file , but everytime i try to run riva tuner it says cannot load rivatuner32.sys , is anyone else getting this problem , i am running vista

What driver version are you using? Some people had issues with the 8.2 catalysts while other were fine on the vr-zone fix (although 8.1 seemed to be fine with it).

ok guys nothing is working


after uninstalling the 8.2's i was nto able to install 8.1's for some odd reason , which was everytime i would get through half installation it would give me an error saying " Cannot find DRIVER:INF , blah blah blah " and Ati Installer would stop , so then i did a restore on vista and got my pc back before i even installed the 8.2's , then installed 8.1's , and they installed fine after that
and installed riva tuner 2.06 , placed the new cfg file in it and still giving me error saying " cannot load rivatuner32.sys makes sure the file exists and you have administrator rights or privliges"

any more suggestions?

ps i also tried running riva as an administrator still same error. and when i check the directory the rivatuner32.sys file is in there so i have no idea why its doing that .

instal driver cleaner.uninstal your drivers then run driver cleaner make sure theres no files left behind then instal cat 8.2 its working fine on mine reinstal rivatuner then replace the cfg.
run riva tuner when it asks to reboot select yes. and reboot your pc then run riva tuner again.should be working.
if it doesnt work after this its probably a vista issue.

alright back here again . rivatuner still keeps giving me "cannot load rivatuner32.sys , make sure file is not missing and you have administrator privilages blah blah blah " , anyone know how to fix this , i used to run riva tuner just fine on vista before , since i formated my hardrive and installed vista fresh, never again have i been able to run it again, any help is appreciated.

I GUESS it was just that the 2.06 didnt recognize the CCC 8.2 or 8.1 , because i just installed the rivatuner 2.07 everything is working awesome , got my fan up to 80% and idle teMps are down to 37c .......... sweeeeeeeeeeet !
