I have no idea which way the fan is blowing.
What is the correct way to mount it so the air is going through the back fan.
I have an ASus p5E motherboard and a Coolermaster stacker case.

Turn it on, and put your hand in front, or back of it.
Other than that, normally, there is an arrow, two arrows actually, telling you the rotation direction, and airflow direction of the fan. They are located on one of the sides of the fan.
It's either one way or the other. So just plug the thing in to your mobo, without mounting it to your cpu, turn your computer on for about 3 seconds to give it power, and then you'll know.
Last resort: take it to your local computer shop, and have them pay you 25 bucks to figure it out.

on a fan one side is open ...thats the side that draws air in.
The reverse has usually 4 plastic arms that hold the blades/motor in place....that side flows out.
Always point the arms in the direction you want the air to flow!
In this example the air is blowing at you!!!

Or, many fans have slightly curved blades. Whichever side is concave is the side that the air blows out.

Lets just say that the side that curves outwards points to the intake side. But I've yet to see a fan without markings on the side that indicate airflow. Just follow the arrow(s) like Basard said.
