Shadowrun 4 pc

In houston we have half price book stores A cool place to buy stuff cheap they carry software cheap. In general its older stuff well I pickedup this game shadowrun which looks ok I never heard of it I picked it up and read the requirements hell this needs a bad ass pc to run" vista only x2 cpu 4.5 gigs hard drive space 2 gigs ram and a 7800 or x1800 with 256 ram" at 15 bucks I picked it up knowing I'm going to vista soon but :eek: Damn that needs power to run! Anyone here ever play it is it worth running? It also will play online with xbox players which is neat but damn wouldn't it have been more purdent to make it dx9 and have setting that would not need a 200 dollar video card which reminds me those base cards are not dx 10 so why does it need vista?

i dont have this game but it helps console gamers by screwing the pc gamers(i looked into buying it i should have but no one carrys it anymore), but other than that it is a very good game,(multiplayer only tho)

They screw the pc gamers by making the aim get really big after you shoot, does the same for consoles tho too

And i have no clue why it needs those req. the games not that graphic intensive

It is an AMAZING game, like CSx10 with magic! Its not that hard to run. I ran it high 1024x768 with a x800Gto, and maxed 1280x1024 with a HD2600XT:)

PS- It has bots for Singleplayer, and it has really nice graphics, very pretty game IMO:)

Yea I ran it good on a 7600GS. I really wish I could find it tho :( Best game ever!

There is a stack of them at this store for 15 bucks each new, no ones buying it becuase of the system requirements.

There just high because of the vista requirement lol.. I ran it fine on a AMD X2 4200+ 1gb of ram and a 7600GS

I ran it on vista but couldn`t get the controls to work !! Yeah as urblkr says , it`s like counterstrike set in the shadowrun universe (D&D)

I really think ShadowRun would've made for a complete kick-ass single-player FPS with MP support (like every other FPS out there) - why they went MP only is beyond me.

But yeah, when playing against consoles, PCs are handicapped horribly - cause we all know when pitting console players versus PCs in a fighting arena like this, it just would be a slaughter.

Awesome game, though . . . I was just dissapointed with the lack of a SP campaign.

I think they were after the monthly fee like with hellgate london why subscribe its a joke but the game companys see $$ if they can get 10 bucks a month from you. For 10 bucks a month I want space hookers and God mode :rolleyes:

I play it when I'm really bored, it's really fun, just think of it as CS with magic :P

and I also got a good deal on it, got it for $40 and got Halo 2 for free :D

I dunno I am supprised to see so many say they liked it, I think of it as my worst waist of 50$ ever.

It was encoded horribly, it ran like absolute total trash on my old desktop Opteron 148@2.8ghz and a geforce 7800GTX, the specs are good so my only guess was as it was encoded for a dual core and the opteron being a single core it just screwed it all up. Thats further backed by the idea it played 2x better on my laptop, and it has a core2duo but weaker gpu.

I also did not like the idea that it took absolutly forever to get into a server, and sometimes all the free servers were full, so you couldnt get in at all, or better yet they were empty and nobody is playing. I refuse to pay $$$ to play multiplayer online so I an get gold servers when every other pc title out there that is FPS has free servers that are much better than these.

My 30 day trial 20 days of it was spent during the problem period with the servers and game crashes so I only got 10 days or so of actual play time on the gold servers, soon as my trial gold was over and I had to use the silver free servers only the game was dead to me.

Im "thinking" of installing it again now only because I have a new PC that I know will play at max settings and I am hoping that all the server/stability issues have been fixed thats why I looked up this thread to see whats going on.

Im getting Vista in the next day or two(damn USPS and there lazy shipping) so I should have it up and running again. I am DIEING to play this game..

If you want to play that bad use the XP crack lol. I got 2 640gb drives now so I am pretty much installing all my old games that I would like to replay with max graphics without worry.

Next up before this one would be Doom 3

a couple of my friends have it for 360 and if i ever got vista(never will) i would def buy this game cause it is realy cheap now, usually $20 or less here, and i have a gold account so i could play with them, i just hate the handicaps, you cant turn without your accuracy going to shit(not like it was good to begin with)

I've been running Vista x64 for a long time now without problems, and I picked this game up from gogamer for like $4.60 with 2.99 shipping. I couldn't pass up a great deal like that, and the game is actually quite fun. Something a bit beyond the typical FPS. Wish they had included more levels though, but for around $6, I am not complaining. I haven't played for a while, but I remember being annoyed at the handicaps for the PC.

Yeah its a 6$ game lol, but I got it for the 50$ when it came out as it was so hyped and I hoped this would be like the new age jedi knight because I had so much fun as a kid in jedi knight fighting with light sabers and then using force jump to go up a 300ft wall to get the jump on somebody. I think jedi knight is better tho and its like 10 years old now.
