View Full Version : ide drivers not installing....

hi guys,
a little prob, nothing major but i cant seem to get the nvidia ide drivers to install on my new mobo,(p6n-sli plat.) iv tried the newest ones from msi, and nvidia sites but none will install,itsfunny though cause the sata drivers all installed correctly.any ideas or suggestions on this would be appreciated,thanks in advance.

For your mobo you must set the jumpers to master/slave not cable select (page 2-14).
Check IDE Bios settings Primary IDE Master/slave - device thru SMART( pages 3-6,3-7)and PCI IDE BusMaster(page 3-13).

should i even repinn the optical drives if there running on an 80wire ribbon cable:confused:?im running to lite on opticals 1- cd\rw 1 dvd\rw. at present both are pinned to cs (cable select) and worked just dandy on my 939 board, i have no clue what the problem is with this new msi intel board:wtf:

The opticals can be on CS but not the IDE HDD"S. Put both HDD's on the same ribbon cable and both opticals on the same cable.

the only HD i have is sata and it was detected right off the bat, but its all a moot point now as iv gotten the ata drivers in now,its a shame when u have to dig thru the install disk files to find a file that should have installed with the initial chip drivers-- thanks for the assist
