I informed all the stores not to sell you one.

But if you really want to know... late February, early March.

I can't find any current news on possible release dates. I would think that possibly they may be launced along with the x48 chipset. Whenever that is.

Overclockers do have a tendancy to take the piss with they're pricing when somethings hard to find elsewhere, im sure their owner is a ferengi

edit: as for a uk date on the quads, scan have had 19/03/08 listed for quite a while now at £218 for a 9450, im half tempted to place a pre order, before the price on these is hiked too

lol @ grings

your spot on tho ocuk are known for their gouging when they can, i too want one but there is no way on this green earth i will pay more than 140 notes for one as at those prices you can get a quad.

Aria still have it (the 8400) listed at £125, i just wish they took pre-orders like scan or ocuk, but if the 8400 goes over £145 everywhere, i'll just get a q6xxx / x32xx instead

They're only £127 on dabs.com including VAT abd delivery. OCUK are rip off merchants.

I got fed up waiting for the Q9450 and got a E8200 from Aria £119 delivered. Very happy with it

from what i've heard from my intel rep.... 45nm quads will be out the week after CeBit. and IIRC thats the first week of march.

EDIT: yep, CeBit is march 4-9 and the rest of the penryn lineup should be out the following week along with the launch of x48 chipset. straight from my intel reps mouth.

Most US pre orders I've found now, are for a second week of march release.

dabs are cheaper ocuk are ripoffs.. the only problem being dabs dont f-cking have any.. jeesh.. wise up dudes.. ocuk have them.. u want them u pay their price or go without..

any prat can be cheaper when they dont have any.. check ebay.. small print.. we dont have any we order to demand.. which in essence means u pay now and hope.. if their suppliers dont cough up (as they wont) u dont get anything..

and yes the same thing will happen when the quads arrive.. u want one.. pre-order or else just talk..

blame intel its entirely down to them.. the mistake was to release the things so cheap in the first place.. 3 gig 6850 175 quid.. better faster 3 gig e8400 140 quid.. not a lot of sense in that now is there..

i used to a drive cab.. why are u dearer than cheapo cabs.. how come u aint riding in a cheapo cab.. i cant get one.. fecking idiots.. he he

that must suck to have to pay import/export fees on something that is being shipped from like 100 miles away.

in stock 2 means not in stock.. or not likely to be when u decide to cough up the 169 quid..

ocuk 10+ means really in stock guaranteed to get one next day delivery.. that is what u pay for.. or not.. ocuk aint price gouging just setting their prices to make sure demand meets supply..

their quad pre-order prices anit bad.. and they will get them first and they will deliver when they do.. after that the price will go up.. be warned..

tell me about it...... I had ordered an E8400 from an Ebay retailer who claimed to have 7 in stock. I emailed him to ask if he really did or if they were pre-orders. "Yes, we have them in stock" came the reply.

Guess what? 3 days later, no chip - I email them to ask whats happened, and "oh, erm we are out of stock". The twats.

To be fair, they refunded me straight away but I wasn't best pleased. Lesson learned etc..

mind u bill some folks ask to be fooled.. if anything is in short supply the dude claiming to have a whole bunch of em at cheapo prices just has to be a dodgy geezer.. it shouldnt take a genius to figure that one out..

thats the thing though - they weren't that cheap (£150 delivered) and they had 98.5% positive feedback on nearly 3000 transaction in the last month - the ebay store was another part of a company called AWD-IT. I was pretty sure they had conned me, but the speed at which they refunded makes me think they were just sailing a bit too close to delivery schedules. I might add, I may not be a genius, but Im not an idiot........

the worse example i saw on ebay was with ati 3870m cards when they first came out.. oodles of small print then right at the bottom the meaningful bit.. sorry since placing this auction my supply has dried up.. in essence the guy was simple taking orders for something he didnt have and had no idea when he would get any..

they say people dont leave negative feedback with bad sellers for fear of getting return bad feedback..
