I'd say it's about the equivilent of a x1600 or x1650... if it works properly, you can probably get $200 out of it.

:twitch: :twitch:

Even though it's amoung the bottom-line of the FireGL series, those cards are designed more for workstation, 3D modeling, etc. Really solid cards, all the way around, and are known for delivering exceptional performance when it comes to gaming, etc.

I'd defi say keep it and see if it works, and how it stacks up against your current hardware.

post a pic of it

but if I were gonna reccomend you to do something with it I would say sell it on ebay, that card is not based off the X16XX series, its based off the Radeon X700 series and only supports PS/VS 2.0

i found a box full of p4's in the trash one time. every single one of them worked. i sold them for $45 each and made like $300.

our local colleges throw away their computer stuff when they upgrade. i dug through the trase for 4 hours one day and got 14 dell 17" LCDs, 9 HP laser printers, 35 dell desktops, a dell XPS laptop that had a cracked screen(that's all that was wrong) 100's of dell mice and keyboards(usb and PS2) and a brand new mini fridge! one of the guys that works there actually helped me load my truck!

I'm not sure i'd want to have to convince any cops that happened to drive by that the stuff was actually in the trash...;)

The FireGL V5000 is identical to the x700 Pro.

Not a great card, but certainly good enough for moderate gaming.

i've found awesome thrown out hardware too.

I get 'dead' hardware a lot - whenever people buy rigs off me, i offer a discount (10% or so) for their old rig - i end up with a lot of ram, harddrives, and fans :D

2-3 systems later, i can build a new rig out of the parts... and make the money back.

fitseries3, yea i am going to sell it, it runs perfect, and has no physical damage.

ATI FireGL v5000, 256 mb GDDR3 ram (that is what PCMark says), PCIe x16, $250, i will pay for shipping. Only United States though.

I think asking $250 is a little much. Even on ebay the FireGL v5100 only goes for the $150 range.

I doubt $250, more like $100-125...

Its is a x700 after all.

And that being with all packaging, and possibly new. Now that he does not have the packaging, and already told us that its found in garbage, at around $50-70

Yesterday I found a Guillemot Maxi Studio ISIS PCI soundcard, with a black box.
The box has following:
FRONT - [S/PDIF]2xOptical,2xCoaxial. 4xLine Out. 8xLine In.
REAR - MIDI IN/OUT/THRU.

And it even works.. Is this worth anything? (I don't have my MIDI keyboard anymore, so I couldn't test if the MIDI device itself works..) And no, this was NOT found amongst "garbage", but a place where they recycle electronical devices. Some people go there and pick up laptops...and I mean like 100 or more of them....
