View Full Version : 8800GTS Overclock, are these numbers decent?

I just got my 8800GTS 512MB today, it is the basic eVGA model.

My final 100% stable clocks are 780/1890/1050. At these speeds the card stays under 62°C under load with the fan at 75%, which is quiet but not silent.

I can do 790/1900/1100, but I have to crank the fan up to 100% to keep the temperatures down and the the card sounds like a leaf blower at 100%. Once they start to rise past ~64°C it starts to artifact at those speeds. At those speeds, the card will stay at ~61°C with the fan at 100%, but I just can't stand it being that loud.

So is 780/1890/1050 pretty close to average for G92 8800GTS cards?

You should add cooling.... then increase voltage slightly........ then clock higher.:rockout:

Its a beast either way though. :D

I would be happy with that OC. I am @ 760 on the GPU atm but I plan on going for my max OC this weekend.

im at 745/1860/1050 for daily clocks on evga g92 gts. i can up gpu to 780 + but it rly doesnt help, what does help is shader. im trying to find a bios mod that allows me to put more juice through the core, like 1.2 or 1.25, but no luck as of yet. there are pin mods but i dont rly like to do those

Before: 12183
After: 12703

So a 520 point jump.

You're obviously CPU limited as this OC should gain considerably more than 500 at 3dm06.

Yeah, that is my guess also, but I can't overclock my CPU yet. I'm waiting on my eVGA 780i board to come in, in hopes that it will be able to pull of at least a decent overclock on with this CPU.

Your score should be higher than that. My OC'ed 3850 gave me 11,226 @1280x1024

Your score is still really good, and my processor limits me too.

I run a C2D E2140 @3.3Ghz and it was 1.6Ghz stock. Even Oc'ed to an inch from death this E2140 could never beat that Q6600 lol. :o

But that is from my third pc. :)

I'd just run 750/1850/1000 for 24/7. Do a BIOS flash and get it over with, no more fooling with those software overclocking programs.
