Well I ordered this card of newegg a couple days ago, any way on newegg they say the core clock is 800 which it is but the memory is 2400 (1200) but on PowerColor’s site it says the memory is 1170 (2340) but I new this before I bought the card. So now that I have the card I find out that my memory says 1126 (2252). This really pisses me off and I was wondering if I should RMA the card. The only problem is I want them to pay for shipping and the time I’m wasting to send in the card do you think they will do that or not and also on top of that I paid $22 for shipping to get it next day so I really don’t want to spend any more money. PowerColor is off my list of companies to buy graphics cards from unless they fix this problem and fast.:mad::mad:

i would contact power colors first before you rma the card. if they say it is messed up then see if the can do a Advanced rma.

Thanks freaksavior, I'll contact them monday because their closed on weekends. The funny thing is I just found out today because I was looking around on newegg and then decided to go to PowerColors site to see if they discontined the card because it's Deactivated on newegg ( http://www.newegg.com/product/product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131077 )(Right after I buy it like 2 days later newegg did this), when I noticed the clock diffrences because I forgot all about it. Also any simple oc on the memory causes artifact in 3dmark06 but only on the last test for some reason. This is my first like RMA I have everdone, well actuly no I did one for my friend but how long dose it take for Advanced RMA. Thanks again!
Edit: Also everyplace I have looked it says the cards mem is 2400 and I don't know why nobody has noticed that.

If your getting artifacts and just barely oc the card...then RMA the card. thats messed up. The beauty of the arma, is it takes like 3-5 days instead of 14-18

you bought the pcs version with the "after market" cooler on it right?
The ARMA usually you do have to pay shipping, but its so much faster than a regular rma.
they may not offer a arma so specifically ask. I know mushkin, and crucial do.

Seems like you've been sent the wrong card in the right box. I have had this happen before.
Basically there WAS a version of the 3870 that ran at stock clocks (mem - 2.25Ghz) but had the aftermarket cooler.
I've never had this issue with Powercolor personally, but it DOES happen, it's just very rare, and unfortunately you're the unlucky one :\

"Please note that you will incur a deduction for any missing parts or accessories, (i.e., cables, manuals, driver disc, etc.). You must return the item in its entirety. Whatever you originally received in your order is what must be returned to Newegg.com.
Please be advised that an RMA number does not extend the warranty coverage or refund period. For example, the 30-day refund period will end on the 30th day from your original invoice date, regardless of the RMA issue/expiration date.
Lastly, if your RMA is for a repair/replacement and the item(s) is not in stock when the return is received and processed, the out-of-stock merchandize will be refunded back to you for the current market value. Unfortunately, some situations are beyond our control. We cannot regulate item availability for all the products in our inventory, nor can we guarantee re-stocking dates, as delivery times are simply estimates. The reason we choose to refund our customers for out-of-stock items is because we do not want to prolong a resolution. We cannot offer an automated exchange for the items instead of a refund. The refund will be issued back to the original source of payment. This method leads to a resolution by allowing you to order a similar product of your choice or purchase locally."
Edit: If the new sapphire toxic is cheap I would rather get that and get my money back for this card.

So I have made up my mind and I'm getting a refund for my card and Im not getting powercolor any more. I called powercolor up and they dont even have there own card in stock so im happy that newegg is understanding and they are the best company out there. Any way whats comming out after the HD3870 and should I wait for the new stuff or no?

Is the memory really 2400MHz and I don't think you ever updated my score on the 3dmark06 section?
