PPP Form Password Recovery

Question, how would I go about recovering a password from a ppp form...it's on the adsl modem, all asterisks, I just want to know what it is. I know I can ring Bigpond and get the password changed, etc. but I'm just wondering if there is an easier way, something that might help me in the future.
