I havent used MS Works in quite some time. I dont find it as feature rich as the MS Office suite. I do know that The Word with MS Works is quite awesome though. Dont remember what else is with it. What seems to be your trouble though?

i want someone to convert 2 files from works format to plain text. I have an assignment in works format and i want it readable.

You should be able to save as in word format or open it in word format and then save it in word format. Thats how I had to do some things from works as well as current word formats that some job seekers couldnt read. I went and resaved in in word 97-03 format.

So this is a VB file or some kind of excel calculation?

Cuz MS word 07 opened it up and I see what looks like programming logic type integers. String equals quarter dime nickle and such.

i didnt have works, i forced it open anyway with office 07 on another pc.
