Ok tomorrow's the day i make my purchase of a new video card. i was thinking of spending no more the 300 and i was interested in the 8800 gts/gt series. here's the deal it's not about money it's about performance, i want the best card for under 300. i was leaning toward the evga 8800gts 512 for 289.99 on the egg with a 30$mir?? if there is anything else let me know?

exodus....are you running the monitor in specs?

Unless you are buying an Utlra for the test scores, I believe it is overkill for a max res of 1280X1024.

I say the GT pancho listed or the 8800GTS 512 would do just as good visually!

no monitor is getting replaced in about 1 month as well as adding a second video card probably, i'm moving up to a 24" wide most likely another samsung or an acer, but yes that's why i asked about 16x10 rez

I will retract my wasted comment as there is enough res there to use an ultra.

I would still say 512 is plenty , but if you have the money to sring on an ultra it wont be wated like I was saying

true, i plan on vmodding and oc'ing the crap out of it then getting a second one, i always prefer to have 2 good cards over one great card. sli is just fun imho and it looks good inside the case. i think i'll grab the 8800gts 512 grab another one when i get the new monitor and game on till i decide to buy a whole new rig. probably next march or so. that seems to be my plan. thanx for the help guys. if anybody can find me the 8800gts 512 from evga for a good price, let me know
