Save your money. After upgrades and the such my s939 system ended up costing me over $1800 bucks all toghether. It's worth it to save up and buy something really nice! If you are an AMD fan, the new B3 Phenoms should be out soon.

If your going to up-grade I'd go with erocker on it. A duel core looks sweet to get, but Phenoms are getting closer and closer to nice change. If you know what I mean.

But if you don't want to go there, get a black 5000+. I think you'll like that processor for duel core.

Go RAID 0 then, at least you'll be able to carry that over when you do your next major upgrade.

Save your money for a cheap AMD QUAD/Motherboard DDR2 upgrade

If you wanna stay S939 I would suggest trying to get your hands on a reasonably priced Opty 165 or 170, even on 939 a dual core that should clock to around 3gig is still very competative.

sounds like i should just save the cash...

@tatty the 3600/3800s do 3ghz easy thats why i was looking at them esp. since they cost ~$40

the 3600 is a cache cut 3800...get the 3800 in Toledo if possible. http://www.xbitlabs.com/articles/cpu/print/athlon64-x2-3600.html
I would say Opty FTW in 939...the other X2's werent the same!
I still voted to save the loot and go big!

Save up for a car, or if you already have one, put some gas in the tank ;).
