Did you try unistalling it and reinstalling? Worked for me once.

I also have a HIS card, X700 Series. When I try and run Ati Tools I just get a 'No Ati card was detected' message. It shows up fine in Catalyst?

I have an ASUS P5WD2 Premium motherboard. I have tried un and re-installing both the Catalyst drivers (5.9) and Ati Tools.. still no joy?!?

--UPDATE--
Went through with a fine tooth comb and made sure anything Ati was removed. Then put Catalyst 5.9 on and then Tools 0.24 and all working OK.

r480 chip is read as 423 in both 024 and new beta , as well as rivatuner 2.0 and ati tray tools.
the chip read r480

In ATI's drivers there is no such thing as an R480 X800 GT. I've checked the inf files. This means that even if one of those cards has that chip, it can't be called that in the bios and still be recognized as an X800 GT.
