well . . . round abouts - what's your budget and preferences for a headset?

Seinhesser HD280 Pro. Nothing more needs to be said.

$100 on Newegg, about $80 if you shop around online.

Do you want standalone headphones? If so, you can't go wrong with Seinhesser's, like DanishDevil has recommended. I recently had a pair of the wireless Seinhesser RS130's, and they are awesome. Don't get them from retail though, they are way over priced (check ebay).

If you want to turn them into a headset, just grab an in-line microphone that clips to the headphone's wire or your shirt. Works well enough IMO for gaming.

this one is popular, it's not over the ears so it isn't cumbersome and the quality is good.
here is a video of it. http://youtube.com/watch?v=hlIYqExTyJg

I'd have no idea where you usually buy from. Do a Pricegrabber search for UK.

That's why I never buy anything from Amazon... I can't stand waiting for stuff lol. Anyway I just realised the link I gave you is for a finished item (duh). Here's the same ones similarly priced http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Technics-Dj-Headphones-RP-F350-with-XBS_W0QQitemZ230230664019QQihZ013QQcategoryZ14985Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I have Panasonic RP-HTX7 and it is quite nice.
Comfortable, light weight, more stylish (There's like 4 colors it comes in)
There's a normal, 4 foot cord, attached to the headphones. It includes a 6 foot extension cord which is great for using it at home.
It blocks out most ambient sound, and muffles louder noises around you.
