Typical Americans, you don't know how many of us can't even pick our own country out on a map. I was in an Environmental Science class back in high school, the teacher asked one of my classmates to pick out a country on the map. He couldn't find it, so the teacher asked him to point out the United States. The moron pointed to Russia!

Rethink - not every one who is "against" the US is really against the US. That's whatFox Networks try to make you believe...

Some are as dumb as dumb US-Americans. They deserve the same contempt. Everywhere.
Some are as smart as smart US-Americans. :toast:

The smarter are not anti-American at all but wish the US for their own best to get a government that tries to live up to a responsibility as the world's second biggest democracy (after India). Well India has religious right-wing sickos too in government. So both should try to shape up... uni-lateral steps in a world that grows more and more together as a global marketplace and community (look at the internet!) make no sense.

And to relieve your shame, quite a few people everywhere, and it doesn't matter what colour they come in, are "white trash" and would not even find their street on a map...not only in the US.
But the traditional concept of a state cultivated in the US until 9/11 (the lesser the government interferes the better) seemingly led to a lower level of general education. 9/11 and the since ever growing government competences could have a good effect, too: If only someone there felt that understanding the "outside" world had it's value, too, or at least one's own history.
So no one's going to say stupid people are stupid by nature, it's more a question of lack of education that's a shame for a developed country.
How many foreign languages does the average american student learn? Do they study abroad to improve their feeling as a "global citizen"? I do not think so. Or too few.

But then again, middle european schools too have their problems. When 3/4 of the pupils are not native citizens of the state and some of them do not even master the language the teaches teach in, it gets difficult...

If you read about the Kansas school board, you feel but despair, though...
http://www.venganza.org/
quite some lot of reading (can you put up with that? sorry just joking) but big fun (and in case someone does not understand the meaning: it's meant as a satirical punch in the face of a school board dominated by morons). :banghead:

Please note that the author of the letter to the Kansas school board is, of course, a US citizen. A fine example that I would be honoured to meet.
And I have several US citizens which I am honoured to be able to call my friends. Not internet-long-distance-"friends", real world next door friends I am in contact with since we studied together.

AMDCam
10-08-2005, 08:02 PM
Wazzle, wazzle, wazzle...you are exactly the type of adult I live with here in colorado. Most other people here are like that too. I am a very opinionated guy, and I am extreme when it comes to opinion, but I'm always open-minded, except in this debate. I don't know where you stand on American issues wazzle, but I really can't believe you call me stupid. If anyone is, it's every fuckin one of you guys who say America sucks for ANY reason. I deleted that post, because I know I'm the only person here that actually has the intelligence and guts to go out and stand up for what I believe in, but fuck you pussies. I would love to see an alternate america with all you fags in there saying "we want republicans! we want war! we want more freedom!", because that's all you'll do, complain no matter what happens. So never call me stupid, for doing that you're as dumb as me by being as opinionated as me, and that's what you're making fun of me for. I am the only person in this thread I've seen actually not conforming to the gay, loud people that love to talk about how america sucks. and about the other posts, no, I'm not stupid or ignorant with these debates, I just say things extremely and wait for other people to prove me wrong, which gets answers quicker than it does when you just say "can someone tell me which is better, 7800 or x1800?", so people know where I stand and a lot of you know that I can change my opinion quickly. And everyone, be happy that you're so ignorant about America, you'll have great lives criticizing the most successful country on earth, I mean hey, jealousy gets you everywhere on this earth.

Alright, well one more thing, Wazzle since you're so educated on this subject, you should probably know that about 90% of the people that agree America isn't good for a random reason, say it because they see other people saying it and they pretty much copy what they see. But if you're ignorant, you at least know war is bad, and with so many people saying "america starts wars, bush started this one" there are plenty of people that are going to say "america IS bad, it starts wars and wars are bad", and there you go, a new anti-bush anti-america person (can't reallly re-explain that sentence, it's too simple). And with this video (the one that started the thread), there's even less support for real americans now, I mean first of all that was an english reporter (yes irrelevant, although you guys seem to cause more verbal arguments than any other country I've ever seen (but I don't want to bomb you or kill you for starting arguments or overthrow your government or even change your ways of life, which is exactly what it seems many of you "war is bad" types seem to want to do to us here in America)) and obviously they modified that video, there were probably quite a few americans that didn't just randomly name off countries, that were just cut out of the movie to make it seem like america is full of retards. And I never freaked out as you stated before, I just wanted to make up for all the people that aren't saying america is a good place, so 1 big, extremely opinionated paragraph from one pro-america guy (me), I thought might help. But I do that I should keep my mouth shut on this debate, I mean you guys are great at telling people what's wrong with america (yet you won't do anything about it), but pro-americans really don't seem to have as much experience in complaining and arguing as you anti-US (in general) guys.

Oh yeah, and guys, if you notice my first replies to these threads are NEVER personally directed at any person here, so when you directly insult me there is really no need. I know it's your opinion with a lot of other people's so I won't say "YOU, you're a retard, I mean no one agrees with you", but when I let out an opinion every important person here seems to direct a mental insult to me "ignorant, stupid, pitiful", so from now on maybe you could treat me like I treat you. If I have an opinion, insult the opinion, not me.

I wish I knew why we at war to begin with. I mean, I saw the reason to invade Afghanistan, an obvious haven for terrorism, and home to the principle financier and organizer of an attack on our sovereign nation, but why did we invade Iraq? At first, it seemed that there were supposed to be terrorists there, maybe even some which attacked our nation....but.... there weren't. Oh wait! Its weapons of mass destruction that’s it, that’s why we need to invade...but... where are they? Oh now I know why we did it! Human rights violations, to overthrow an evil dictator, and establish a democratically elected puppet state.... I mean nation, in the Middle East. Hey third times a charm right? Oh! And let’s have the vice presidents former company do most of the reconstruction of the oil infrastructure at inflated rates! Of course none of it could ever be about oil. I mean, why would America have to continue its outrageous, disproportionate, and inefficient consumption of natural resources? Gee! I hope that is not why my brother is leaving for a country tomorrow that an angry and uneducated minority can not even locate on a map. So sorry AMDcam, I have a difficult time respecting my nation. I ask my self, why does the world’s most influential nation, refuse to lead by example. Why do we fail to sign the Kyoto protocol? Bush said because it would hurt business. Well damn right it will hurt business! They might have to shave a couple hundred million or a billion of the top end of their Profits, it would be a shame if that left them with only a few billion left after they bring their facilities up to emissions par. I laugh at the phrase "Greatest Nation on Earth" How can one be great when you lack the respect of your peers? When you neglect the health of your citizens and the world for personal profit? When you abuse the finite resources and natural beauty of the Earth like they will last forever? When a large majority of people vote for a president because he is a republican and says he likes god, because he says he goes to church! I mean that’s all that should matter right! Would god smile upon the death and destruction dolled out by these men on a daily basis! What a joke! What a farce! If you believe in any sort of abrahamic God how can they think he would create us just to watch us destroy ourselves in his name! What idiocy! If that is who God is I don't want to know him! If he wants that sort of blind obedience and servitude than he is not a righteous God. Let's not mention the faulty logic that is inherent in the idea of upholding freedom the world over, when our freedom diminishes on a daily basis.

So pardon me, but perhaps some hate and anger is well deserved, we can't all fall prey to the slickest bunch of propaganda this side of 1945.

Sorry about the tirade, I just needed to get that off my chest.
