So I bought 4x1gig sticks from a vender on TPU. I finally get the sticks, and load all of the sticks into my mobo, and it wont boot. So i try different combonations of different sticks in different slots, and rule out that one stick is bad. I start to look it over and notice that the Heat spreader is slightly loose. So when i try and to remove it i notice that 2 ram chips have actually came off the pcb and are attached to the heat spreader :banghead: since i sent the money to him on march the 3rd and got it today, and now this...im pretty irritated. :shadedshu
ill post some pics soon

Who did you deal with?
Id talk to him personally, see what the deal is with the broken RAM and if he had any problems with them before selling. Selling broken !@#$ isn't right and I'm sure something can be worked out if they don't work.

If they are performance memory, boot with lower end memory or one stick...change speed/voltage/timing settings in BIOS and re-try 4 sticks...also you may need to bump up the voltage a little beyond rating to get all 4 dimms stable...along with increasing NB/MCH voltage.
EDIT: Didn't notice the part about the RAM Chips coming off w/heatsinks....bum deal man. Shit happens, but that is definately a bum situation.

Sucks to hear man i know you've been waiting on that ram forever.. i person might not want to blame the guy but maybe shipping.. seeing how your box was tossed around maybe the same happened here and it got damaged. I would contact the shipper and demand $100 for damaged goods(they cover up to $100 worth of whatever you shipped)
