Ok Im looking for a psu with 2 pci-e 8pin connectors and 2 pci-e 6 pin connectors because i am upgrading from my 8800 ultra to 2 3870x2 with EK water blocks. I looked everywhere and cant find one. Do the optional molex to 8 pin connectors work for pci-e or is that just the mobo connection? Im not looking to spend over $250, any help would be great cause im ready to purchase but not sure about this psu, thanks!!!!
System:

Intel Core 2 Extreme qx9650 @ 4ghz

750 watts enough for my setup? look at first post for specs then add in 2 3870x2's
Full load in world in conflict with max settings on my 8800 ultra pulls 470watts

check my system specs fairly close to yours. i did manage to borrow a friends pair of 2900pro's that i flashed to xt's for him. ran them for the weekend and never had any problems.

True, i think i would be safe. By the way, i built a 700 dollar system for a extra pc on a dvi kvm that i do other stuff on i wont do on my 64bit gaming rig. I got a 2900gt and 2 days later they discontinue them, cant even overclock the card, but it was a budget system so i hope it wont have problems :banghead:
Ouch i just dropped $1350
System complete for years to come :P atleast thats what i always tell myself lol

Here is the official certified list:
http://game.amd.com/us-en/crossfirex_components.aspx?p=3
A quality PSU of 670W or better should do the trick if the amperage is decent enough. I have a Thermaltake Toughpower 850WW0131RU (850W) that is on the list.

Careful with ur wording there. It is cheaper but better, NO.
I have a few of the PC Power & Cooling PSs and they are very good. And the 750 will power his comp. But it is capable of 60 Amps on the 12V rail. The Silverstone can get up to 80A(88peak).

PP&C 1kw. great performance price and efficency. and each psu (all pp&c's) is indivually tested for durability, stability, and longevity. on top of that, 1kw psu purchases will get you the exact psu test report for your indivual psu with the purchase. so you can be assured that the psu is going to serve you faithfully. on top of that, you cant go wrong with a 7 year warranty.

The PC Power PS is VERY good. But something to remember is NO PS rating is perfect, on every PS power is going to be wasted (changed to heat). If you are going to build an EXTREME comp dont pust the limits of your PS. The 1000 watt one will push power to all ur stuff with less struggle, and if you OC dont forget that raises the requirements even more.
Better safe than sorry.

It will work, PC Power and Cooling PSs are built to deliver more than the rated power. Amps, Watts and Volts all matter, as well as the input (AC power from the wall)
I just would rather have a bit more just to be safe. Especially if I was spending as much as you, (although I can be a bit of a cheapskate, lol)

People are just too close-minded here sometimes. The Cooler Master 1000watt and 750watt psu's have gotten near 10/10 ratings from every review site. I can also guarantee that the quality is outstanding and even bests my Fortron Source Blue Storm. I can't imagine shelling out $100 more for a PCP&C psu which is the same quality...
The Cooler Master is even on the "bad" psu list here!

cooler master 430w's are made by hipro... you know how notorious hipro's are..
as for seasonics.. show me a bad psu from pp&c or seasonic (both of which are made completely by seasonic)

I'm referring to the 750 watt real power pro. I've never dealt with the 430 watt models, but I agree that they're probably cheap. Fortron Source and Seasonic both have cheap models. I've you're interested in a high-end computer you get a high-end psu, so the low models should be off your list anyway.
My 750 watter is simply amazing--and inexpensive!

i like the PC P&C psu's but i dont think the Silencer 750 ( i have one :D) would be enough. There is a new one which is 860w that just came out and received a very good rating in CPU magazine. Here is the the link:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817703013
i would also recommend the Silverstone OP1000 as MKmods suggested or the SilverstoneDA850 as those too are excellent psu's. The Enermax Galaxy 1000w psu is also nice if you can find a good deal.

-praying i have a little wattage left over from 2 3870x2's on a pc and powercooling 750 quad ready-
I probably should of went with more but then i would have to cancel the order, wait days on days for the money to come back to me which has already been taken, yata yata yata, so ill take my chances :D but from hearing on others opinions it will be fine, i have a right to panic!!! :)
