well i just got everything running "stable" on my new pc, but now i ran into a problem that i cant simply fix. every time i try to benchmark or just run a normal 3d app on my system , the program will run fine for the first 5 secs and then my PC would restart. Im suspecting PSU, if so i dont think my 750wtt PSU is too little for my system. or is it?
new sys:
CPU:q6700 stock
MB: abit ix38 quadGt
Ram: 8gb pc6400
Vcard: 3870 x2
PSU: HeC zephyr 750wtt
fans, running:
x6 case fans, and a 120mm HS fan

I would say PSU sounds quite possible, but try running memtest first, as this could well be memory related instead.

I'm the type of person that believes in PSU Calculators (http://extreme.outervision.com/psucalculatorlite.jsp) and will tell a person that feels their PSU is bringing them down to check that. I would try, like Jimmy says, memtest for the ram. You might not be stable there. But, its all ways good to know if the watts are enough for your system.
I've never heard of the brand of PSU that you have, so I can't say if its good or what. If it was craching because of your Graphics card, then ati would have the safe boot, and just tell you that there was a crash via graphics card.
So it's ether ram or psu.

Hiya Cold Storm! Hey do you remember those problems I was having with Aquamark3? This may be the case here.
Warup, what res are you trying to bench/game at? What is your monitor's native res? Is it with just one single app or anything 3D?

Your system was restarting all together??? I thought it was just crashing and still running..

There were times it was doing either crashing, restarting, or crashing then restarting. In other words, I was getting all symptoms of bad gpu bad ram and bad psu.

Yeah my system was restarting all together, up to the point that my my MB bios resets itself, plus im also starting to suspect on ram because when i boot, i see the ram speed at 792mhz [from supposedly 800mhz], now today it shows 900mzh wtf , i don't have nothing OC......im gonna do a memtets but first im gonna take all my sticks out and leave one and test 3d apps on them.

well when you do memtest you'll need to do full runs if possible. And when there is a error, do one stick at a time to check to see if there is just a dead one. Its strange how the bios is reading the ram differently every time it starts up.

well i ran a quick test on memtest for almost an hour and everything looked fine, now my next try is going to be trying the another PSU which is the same model, but in my other pc which has been running fine for 2 months now.
