i plan on getting vista home premium 64 in a couple days but i wanted to make sure that it supports the 3870X2 (ive got the Sapphire one). i heard that 64 bit vista wont recognize the other gpu on the card; is that still a problem, or was it ever? thanks for the help, and any other info on potential cons with my card and vista 64, let me know, appreciate it guys.

i have an 3870 x2 running on vista premium fine, everything is recognized, just make sure that you get every single update from Microsoft.

Running Vista Ultimate 64 bit with service pack 1 and my 3870X2 is just fine. Both cores are recognised and the driver install of Catalyst 8.3 went better then it did on XP. I found that Colin Mcrae Dirt and Quake IV would not work with my 3870X2 under XP but in vista both run flawlessly. Hope that helps.

just make sure that you use the correct power connectors for the x2...I have reading horror stories about n00bs connecting the wrong power connectors.......
if you do not want overdrive, use two 2x3 connnector (6-pin) connectors...
if you do want overdrive, use one 2x3 connnector (6-pin) connector and one 2x4 pci-e (8-pin) connector. do not use the dedicated 2x4 8pin (that one goes to ur mobo)
