Due to an RMA on my original OCZ Platinum PC6400 Rev2 I ran out and picked up a pair of OCZ SLI-ready memory since I didn't want downtime waiting for the new modules. So now I have a set of 2X1GB in both versions. Since I am running WinXP I can't really take advantage of 4GB so I will just end up selling one of these sets.

So which set should I keep? The SLI-ready was $20 more to buy but seems to have the same 4-4-4-15-1T @ 800MHz specs. From my searches they both seem to use ProMOS chips. Due to my current OC with FSB of 380MHz my choices for the memory are 760MHz or something over 900MHz (can't remember) but I don't think I can OC the memory to that speed. So I am currently underclocking the memory to 760MHz @ 4-4-4-12-1T.

Both seem to run fine on my ASUS P5K-E motherboard. Tis is not an SLI setup so I don't really care about the EPP.

The part number for the SLI Ready is OCZ2N800SR1G

The part number for the Platinum Rev 2 is OCZ2P800R21G

Watcha think? Which set would you keep?

I'd keep the sli ready ram you just bought and sell the platinum kit when you get it back from rma. That way you could sell the kit brand new in original packaging. Or, because ram is so cheap put it in your system. It will still utilize 3-3.5gig in xp. Plus you will be ready for vista also.;)
